The Game Awards, the video game industry’s biggest year-end celebration, today announced The Game Awards will return to Fortnite for the third year in a row. The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite resides on its own Fortnite Island, where Fortnite players around the world can vote in-game and help The Game Awards celebrate the Best Fortnite Island of 2025.
The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite is a hub world that lets players portal to 10 creator made Islands that showcase the potential, creativity and innovation possible in Fortnite. After exploring the nominated islands, players can vote in-game for their favorite, as part of a special fan poll. The fan voting will be blended with voting from an internal Game Awards jury to determine the winner, which will be announced during The Game Awards, when it streams globally on Thursday, December 11 from Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
After casting their votes, Fortnite players can dive into The Game Awards Island and awaken four ancient nodes — hidden underground challenges that charge a colossal portal projector in the Island’s heart. Then, this December, players everywhere can gather for a global in-game event as the projector comes to life and reveals exclusive The Game Awards news.

Fan voting on the island, limited to one vote per Epic ID, will be active until Monday, December 8 at 10am PT. The winning island will be announced both on the island and during The Game Awards on Thursday, December 11. The Best Fortnite Island is a 100% fan-based poll and not an official Game Awards category. The winner will be determined by a blended vote between the fan poll and an internal Game Awards jury that will evaluate the nominated islands for creativity, innovation and fun factor.
