Tune in for a Special One Night Performance of Songs from Riot Games and Fortiche Production’s Beloved Animated Netflix Series
The Game Awards 2024 has announced its first musical guests: three artists behind the season 2 soundtrack for Riot Games and Fortiche Production’s hit animated Netflix series, Arcane, which is based on Riot’s flagship video game League of Legends. The one-night-only musical event will feature Grammy-Award winning duo Twenty One Pilots alongside 19 year-old visionary artist d4vd and artist Royal & the Serpent, who will be accompanied by The Game Awards Orchestra led by award-winning conductor Lorne Balfe. The performances will be a part of The Game Awards 10th anniversary event, streaming live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
The Arcane season 2 musical event at The Game Awards 2024 will include live performances of three original compositions crafted specifically for pivotal moments in the Emmy-winning series. It will include songs from the Season 2 soundtrack including “The Line” by Twenty One Pilots, “Remember Me” by d4vd, and “Wasteland” by Royal & The Serpent, performed by the artists. This is the second time The Game Awards has featured live performances of music created for Arcane, following a performance at The Game Awards 2021 by 17-time Grammy Award winning musician Sting of “What Could Have Been” from the show’s season 1 soundtrack.
“As a fan, when invited to be a part of Arcane, I was inspired to contribute in some way. So many aspects of this story connect with me on a creative level, and when the scene was shared, I immediately knew the lyrical concept and direction I wanted to take when writing ‘The Line,’” said Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots. “Josh and I are thrilled to present this song on stage for the first time during the 2024 Game Awards.”
“As a gamer and a genuine fan of ‘League of Legends,’ it was an amazing experience to collaborate with Riot Games in the making of ‘Remember Me’ – also inspiring me to get better at the game,” said d4vd.
“Getting to be a part of one of the most remarkable and stunning shows I’ve ever seen has been such an honor,” said Royal. “Arcane struck my heart with its profound storyline, innovative art style, and powerhouse soundtrack when it was first released in 2021. Since then I’ve been dreaming of collaborating on the project in any way possible. I am so grateful and excited to get to share this moment with not only the fans of the show, but everyone else who’s dedicated so much of their time and passion into creating such a beautiful body of work.”
